- Greetings.
-
- With all the talk of AMOS3 on the way, further Amiga upgrades, future
- development, and my being a programmer & coder (needing updated hardware),
- I've been thinking about some 3.1 for myself (my one Miggie that I use for
- programming is set up: A2000 '040 with 1M Chip and plenty of 32bit Fast,
- but still with 2.04, not too bad, but having two kick's would be nice).
-
- I had inquired several months ago on the subject of "soft" and ROM kickers
- for my 2000, and got something from Giark (albeit the 500 is quite similar
- to the 2000, since he was using his old 500 at the time). He didn't quite
- help me much in the way of referencing any good kickers ;) and after trying
- quite a few on Aminet, I still WASN'T kicking WB3 on my Amiga!
-
- After a few tries I stopped looking and working with all the kickers I had,
- having other (better) things to do (at the time CBATNAM). But as I said
- here, I'm wanting to get back to looking for a kicker that will help.
-
- I recently got word that someone I have contact with could get me an A4000
- Toaster (supposedly a good load) for a relatively good deal (still no word
- on this yet). It's been awhile since I heard anything from him, and since I
- really haven't the time right now to wait on him :) it comes down to this.
-
- I'm basically looking for a good kicker (archive with some .docs, plz) that
- will kick WB3 on my 2000. As I mentioned earlier, some of the ones I tried
- (ReKick, mKick, et al.) didn't work, namely to a few things (the #1 thing
- was that they "claimed", or were supposed to, keep the ROM resident in
- memory, allowing me to cold reboot without losing the image. Wrong!). I
- also think my '040 accelerator and hardware config or setup might have
- disagreed with a few of them, thereby wonk'ing it and them not working.
-
- If anyone here has, uses, or could point me to a few good kickers, I would
- be a happy camper. My A2000 setup is (once more): '040 25, 1M Chip, 18M
- Fast, couple of internal boards, 2 SCSI and several externals. For those
- that want more or need any extra, mail me and I'll give you a more detailed
- listing of my current hardware setups, etc. Anyhow, help is appreciated.
